My goal weight times 10. That is what every weight loss doctor I have ever talked to has told me. I know how to eat right and live well LOL It's the putting it in motion I flake out on. As I love sweets, cakes and rich wines LOL. I have taken nutrition class after class, and have also read just about every diet book out there. My biggest thing is keeping weight off. I can get down to 130 in the next 6 weeks. I've done it before. My problem is not making it a lifestyle change, so once i reach my goal, I hit the freezer and grab the Klondike bar LOL. Or start baking again. My biggest down fall is not enjoying my sweets in moderation. I seeriously can eat a whole batch of brownines in one sitting while catching up on the latest tv show I missed. That is where I lose all self control. But I am working on that. I know the key to any lifestyle change or diet is not to cut your treats out but to enjoy them in moderation. As a former army wife I know exactly what you are going through. Our last duty station was Ft Lewis, before that we were at Bragg. I was active USAF and did my share of time in Texas & Europe. Fort Hood has a terrible reputation, some deserved...some not. It is a typical duty station and military town. My advice? Get out of Kileen. Get a house between Kileen and Austin toward the hill country if you want to live off post. Much greener and nicer. If it is any consolation Fort Lewis is not located in Seattle, rather south of Tacoma which is a very icky city to live in. Bragg was hot and dirty too...all the military towns are yucky to live in which is why we always moved 30 minutes away from post. If you are going to live on Post - get off and drive. Check out the local scenery and life. At Hood you will be a half day's drive from the coast which is amazing for kids to play at. Yes Hood is a rapidly deploying duty station and that sucks. My husband was career special forces - I was alone for 200-250 days a year..it can be hard and lonely, but keep your chin up and dive into local activities with the kids. There is a great deal to do down there, you just need to drive a bit. I think you will be pleasantly suprised especially if you keep a positive attitude! For the most part Killeen still has a small town feel, though the population is said to be over 110,000. I had a little Nikon Coolpix before I upgraded and it was (and still is) an excellent little camera.
